Workplace Accident Statistics
Between 2014 and 2024, there have been a total of 501 workplace fatalities (As of 4th Jan 2025 - Source H.S.A. website) in Ireland.
There were 33 fatalities in 2024. A reduction on the previous year, totaling 43 workers.
That is 33 people too many!!
That is someone’s family member, father, mother, brother, sister, cousin, neighbour or friend.

- The most hazardous sectors are still Agriculture & Construction.
- The main causes of non-fatal accidents are Manual Handling & Slips, Trips & Falls.
- The age group most likely to be involved in an accident is between the ages 33 to 45.
- Sectors with the highest injury rates workers include Construction and Agriculture.
- Male workers are more likely to be involved in workplace accidents than female workers.
Remember, ALL Accidents Are Preventable.
